Legislative Information

"Politics is too important to be left to the politicians." John F. Kennedy Jr.

Because JCEA knows that every educational program began as a political decision, we encourage member participation in the political process.

We also seek to inform the voting public by making "recommendations" on candidates and issues we believe "measure up" in support of public schools and our organizational values. This is done through our bipartisan small donor committee, JCEA-SDC.

This program is supported by voluntary member contributions. No members’ dues dollars are used for partisan political activity. Additional information about the JCEA-SCD can be found on our member-only pages.

JCEA Makes Continuing Recommendation for 2017 BoE Election
“Our members know that School board elections matter so that integrity and quality is maintained in both the classroom and the district, as well as the profession,” said Dale Munholland, Pomona High School teacher and chair of the Community Advocacy Action Team.

Negotiated Agreement Ratified
The tentative agreement was ratified by JCEA membership and accepted unanimously by the Board of Education at the May 4th meeting. The new language will go into effect at the beginning of next school year. Click for details.

Tentative Agreement Reached!
After months of bargaining and hundreds of volunteer hours, the JCEA bargaining team reached a Tentative Agreement with the district at last night’s bargaining session. A vote of the entire JCEA membership on whether or not to ratify the agreement will take place following next week’s AR Council meeting on Tuesday.
