Celebration of Jim Hodges’ Life

Sep 23, 2016
On August 11, 2016, we lost a wonderful man who touched many lives. James “Jim” R. Hodges moved to Colorado in 1969 because he had heard great things about Jefferson County Schools and wanted to be part of an innovative school system to benefit kids. He taught biology at Lakewood High School for ten years and was then elected President of the Jefferson County Education Association (JCEA). When he completed his term, he returned to teaching at Columbine High School for one year before being hired permanently as a UniServ Director at JCEA, where he advocated on behalf of JeffCo teachers. Jim completed his career as the Executive Director of JCEA, retiring in 2006. He was extremely proud that all five of his children and stepchildren graduated from Jefferson County schools.
