NEA Resources and Programs
NEA Tools and Ideas– NEA has some valuable resources for members. Their Tools and Ideas program includes lesson plans, help with classroom management, identification of best teaching practices, instructional tools on the web and in print, and a place to share and discuss.

NEA’s Read Across America- an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on March 2, the birthday of beloved children's author Dr. Seuss. NEA's Read Across America also provides NEA members, parents, caregivers, and children the resources and activities they need to keep reading on the calendar 365 days a year.
National Board Certification
National Board Certification is a renewable, advanced teaching credential good for 10 years. It complements, but does not replace a Colorado teacher license and is designed to recognize effective and accomplished teachers who meet high standards. You can earn the certification after successful completion of a voluntary assessment program. For more information download the National Board Certification flyer.
In Jeffco, teachers can earn 3.5% of Step 1, Level 1 of Base Teacher Salary for National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification. All candidates must be registered by December 1, 2011 and scholarships may only be available for the first 100.
