Jefferson County, CO – JCEA recently learned of a sealed court record from Michael Yocum. This issue did not come up in the questionnaire, interview, or the vetting process. In light of this information not being disclosed to JCEA during the recommendation process, JCEA will be withdrawing their recommendation of Michael Yocum.
This does not downplay the actions of political extremists, who are trying to use a complicated and traumatic event from over a decade ago to achieve their own political outcomes. These harmful political tactics do nothing to support our students, teachers, or public schools.
